Ode to the Junkie

by Zamounde the Footstepper

You told me to cut down on my meat so I tried
Soy bean, oatmeal and lesser burgers
I felt good knowing that I was getting' over
But now you want me to stop eatin' macaroni and cheese
I come in my kitchen to bring happiness not sadness
You betta' get out of here with that Tofu madness
U betta get out of here with that madness

I know you want me to live longer/stronger in my old
age
I want my M.E.A.T. like some want their MTV & BET
I'm attacked from all angles by commercials
Driving ain't easy
On every corner there's a joint to eat
They never have what I need but what I want, see
It's expensive to be right, and my money is tight
I can't afford to be like you
You be strong for two
Any thing but my macaroni and cheese

My mama lived to be eighty
She cooked us this for years
Even when grease was real
And stoves caught on fire
Do I get points for leaving
The chit'lings and hogshead cheese alone
It's hard being a veggie
In a world of meat
Even at Beans N' Grains
It cost me an arm and a leg
I need some more money plant my own leaves
Can't have garden at 100 feet above ground

"You hang on there
It's always harder to live right
In the end you you'll see your reward 100 fold
That's the truth as it's always told"
