The Message

by Zamounde the Footstepper

I write this because I care
Even though on the surface a left
and a right hook I want to share
You ain't that bad

You're about as bad as a meteorite
trying to make it to the surface of the earth
Or lava trying to take over the ocean
Or trying to stop a subway train all ready in motion
Or a man trying to give birth
You ain't that bad brother
So don't be so wrong to one another

I saw you stepping up against tremendous odds alone
Like a gun against a leg bone
You'll get dropped before you swing
And those closer will sing "I told you so"
In tenors and baritones
Forced to carry you one last time
WITH SORROW AND MOANS

I mean you can be a fighter for love
Or help nurture that dove
And still be respected
Than to tear down everything
and do exactly what's expected

I mean the ad read
"Come early, because after that the area is iffy"
That's has nothing to do with you or I
That's just trumped up fears and lies
Perpetrated by the media eye
You ain't what they say so don't believe it
Don't let them play you like "JIFFY"
-Cheap
You ain't that bad
I just wanted you to know before someone
so-called badder than you personally delivers that
message

Slow down (train)
Don't enter the atmosphere (meteorite)
And stay out of the cooler (ocean)
Be a soldier for righteousness
and rise above this clutter
Ain't nothing wrong with being a "good boy" man
