The Other Woman

by Angela S. Weathered

Women listen & listen well
To the other woman,
I have a story to tell
Love your man & treat him well
For if you don’t
The other woman will dwell
In his mind
At first you’ll see
For in his bed, she soon will be
Getting all the lovin
He has to give
Leaving you without a place to live
Whining and dining him
Like he is hers
Cause she waited in the mist
While you rejected his love
You told him he was no good
And sent him on his way
You kicked him out
Without a place to stay
You degraded him
In front of his friends
Complaining all the time
With no end.
You played with his emotions
As if you didn’t care
Talked to him like dirt
His bed you didn’t want to share
So don’t get mad, my sistah
If he’s found someone new
To treat him with respect,
Love & honesty too
For if you loved him
Like you said you did
He’d still be with you
Instead of in my bed.
