I’ve traveled that long lonesome road with just a little hope.
I’ve climbed that dreary, rugged, jagged slope.
I say to myself, “just a little further, just around the next bend”.
But it seems there is just no end.
I have just enough strength to make it to the end of the day.
I don’t have to ask, I must, I must pray.
Sometimes it seems I’m holding on to tight.
I’m hanging on with all my might.
Hungry for the future, and feeding on the past.
With just enough hope to make it last.
Whether my journey is to be my last stand.
I’m going to make it to the Promised Land.
I’ve seen the patience of a man pushed to the extreme.
I can hear them. Can you? I can hear the angels scream.
Keep hope, keep hope, and keep hope alive.
