Men of Means

by Roylin Picou

good day ladies and gents heres some southern flavor featuring NEW ORLEANS.
SIT BACK AS I TRY 2 TELL A TALE OF GOOD AND EVIL, FUN, LOVE, FOOD ETC...

there r men of means in NEW ORLEANS, who sit in dark cafes,
they order grits and plan their blitz and scope-out helpless prey.
they plan their schemes behind the scenes 2 snare and cause sorrow,
and if they fail they do not wail 4 u see there’s always 2morrow!
so now they rise with blazing eyes 2c who they can cause 2 stumble,
and 1 eye JOE says b4 they go, yall come back 2 git some gumbo!
they yells SHO YA RIGHT! then fade from sight now starts the BIG adventure!
but midless JACK had 2 go back 4 he 4got his DENTURES!!!!!

now warn your sons and daughters about da FRENCH QUARTERS r it will be a pity,
if they git taken in by the guile and sin of our intoxicating city!
now i'm not lying at PAT O'BRIANS they serve a drink called da HURRICANE,
it’ll knock u off yo feet and lay u in the streets and make u act insane!
if good food u wants u dont have 2 haunt u’re surely in the right town,
we gots red beans and rice dats very nice and kool-aid 2 wash it down!
u can watch the BIG parades and sit in the shade and chump-on some POPEYE’S CHICKEN,
i’ll tell now you dont need no napkins cause yo fingers u’ll be licking!
u can go 2 church and make a JOYFUL noise 2 LORD and the Spirit will have ya jumping.
u can hear the big bands in the parades and hear the bass drum thumping!

our citys fun and theres lots of sun just dont venture off in the wrong direction
because the men of means in NEW ORLEANS r always looking 4 a LOVE connection.
they LOVE 2 swindle and make your moneys dwindle but they cant get u if u stay away.
so do not enter the doors r put yo feet on the floors of a damp and dark cafe!
I hope diss tale didnt make u wail but I just thought I had 2 mention,
a few things about NEW ORLEANS and it’s men of means and their duplicitous intentions!
