Walking On Thread

by Nigel S. Daring

What weight hath gravity in matters of the mind?
A man seeking balance, wondering can he ever hold up,
will he ever make it?
For his ground is unsure; life seems so insecure
He convinces himself that destiny is a friend to the faithful
All the while seeking place in Truth’s book
To avoid dreaded ends, he forfeits wealth
But austerity as prosperity bears insecurity,
except in total firmness of faith

How to find a place when perception in the mind?
Where else to go when the thread is a straight thin line?
Justice justifies the Just
Peace finds rest where love abides
He walks with pride, hoping life is not taking him for a ride
Or else the joke of the devils be upon his head
Saying, he should’ve succumbed to evil’s grasp instead
All things being equal, he expects all

Must a man not live with his own conscience?
Should the love of vanity drift a man from the Way?
To turn means a fall
Making amends with the Wise on whom he leans
Awareness makes him withstand the test
Oh how grateful is he to the Word he heard
His sole advice, “Pay attention so you won’t fall”
