I

by Nigel S. Daring

I
Cloaked with majesty, I am light
I am being without flesh; I am word
I live as the root of life; I am life
I was never born and I can never die, I am
I am existence; existence is of me, yet I live beyond existence
I am the mystic binding space, life, the past, present
and future in a functional whole
I sustain all things and nothing sustains me but my very being
I can be anything, do anything; nothing is impossible unto me
What I desire, is
I know no fear; all fear me, except one foolish creature
I exceed infinity as an eternal ocean
of beauty, knowledge, strength and power
I am what men seek, yet know not that they seek

I appear as the bright and shining star in pitch-black night
When I cry, my tears rain as flood waters
My breath is the mighty wind traversing the earth
When I walk, the earth shivers and quakes
When I am angry, volcanoes erupt, fiercely spewing hot lava in mid air
My voice rolls as thunder before a heavy pour
I move upon the ocean as great tides threatening to drown mountains
I span the farthest reaches of the universe and beyond
I am here, there, and everywhere

To the soul, I am sweet
I am the fulfillment and the joy of life
I am the absolute truth, the way, and the brightness of day
I am wisdom, love, justice and reality
I am right, the ideal, the essence of perfection
Who receives me, joins me, becomes me

It is foolish for one to write of me, talk of me
Words cannot capture me, yet I inspire many words of me
It is I who inspire these words
It is I
