There are secrets kept by all of us
Most of us don't want known
Secrets that reach far into the past
Traveling back over tides of time
That involve the lives of many the
number of the grains of sand.

We heard you call out to us Oh Father!
We heard your voice like the sound of rushing water
We received your laws and decrees
You gave us life with just a word that came like a
violent storm
But we did not heed your warnings.

We fumbled around like children in the dark
Ignorant of our past
Kept from us by those who wish to assume
our title and position
As the chosen of the most high
Lord of Lords and King of Kings
They would gladly trade places to become a
beaten, enslaved, ignorant, but blessed nation.

We hear the truth and turn away
As if it were bad meat
This is what we do not know nor accept
The truth is forever secret.
