I have heard it said that knowledge is power,
So what's up with how you just spent the last hour?
My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge,
Turn that TV off, boy, and go enroll in college.

They can repossess your car, even cut back your time,
But once you get knowledge, they can't take your mind.
It just doesn't make sense, why ignorance is so bliss,
For those "in the know", knowledge is better than a kiss.

So, chart your course, the future is for those who take it,
Not to those who are jiving, trying once more to fake it.
Insight is power and strength, and the strong survive,
But the weak don't think, they're just trying to stay alive.

Learn from the old, they've already been through,
The cycles of life, that will push you to pursue.
Be strong therefore, and grow in God's grace,
There is one prize for you, at the end of this race.
