Hell Is Very Cold

by Dr. Billy Ingram

Hell is very cold
Yea, I know the Bible says it’s hot,
'Though I’m not dead but living, trust me, hot, it’s not.

Hell is very cold
And I’m not dead, I’m alive,
I’m speaking to you the truth, 'cause I don’t jive.

Hell is very cold
Even though it’s called fire and brimstone in theology,
If reality is stranger than fiction, then this is no joke to me.

Hell is very cold
And my hell is to freeze in this cell,
All family has forsaken me; I never receive any mail.

Hell is very cold
You see, one dark night in my cell,
They came in and did something to me that I cannot tell.

Hell is very cold
The court ordered me to serve time,
And it’s cold, cold, cold, I never committed a crime.

Hell is very cold
Because in here you’re never heard,
Strange that the only one who listens is the courtyard bird.

Hell is very cold
I guess for now I am one of the least,
But as cold as it is, I have more than most, and that is peace!
