Can You Hear Me Now?

by Dr. Billy Ingram

Can you hear me now? My voice is strong like thunder,
Make no mistake about it and please don’t blunder,
‘Cause when I speak all men on earth should wonder,
What word is that which pierces my soul asunder?

Can you hear me now? My voice is soft like wind,
At the end of the day, I only want to be your friend,
After all is said and done, the end is where I begin.
So, why do you reject me and still think you can win?

Can you hear me now? My voice shakes the ground,
It can lift a lonely heart, and reverse an ugly frown.
Life doesn’t have to be a circus with man as a clown,
It’s the broken and beaten that I will make sound.

Can you hear me now? My voice comes from the sky,
Old folks used to call my home the sweet by and by.
You really need to feel me before the day you die,
Because there is a hell and it will make you cry.
Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? God!
