Dr. Billy Ingram is a freelance writer, author, actor, educator, poet and percussionist. As a humanitarian and philanthropist, he seeks to help the poor and downtrodden. Each year he raises money for scholarships to benefit worthy students who only need exposure and an opportunity. These scholarships help to uplift the youth to the next level. He has traveled extensively since his first trip abroad in the summer of 1973, where he spent two months in Europe and Africa. He has been a frequent guest at the White House. He was summoned to Israel 1995 for a special conference on peace and tourism by the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, and he has very close ties to Chiefs and Kings in West Africa. In 1993 he served as a Diplomat and good will Ambassador to Korea, with a delegation of Korean and African American Pastors. In 1994 he led a group of 30 African American Pastors on a tour of Israel, at the request of the Government of Israel and has conducted many trips to both Egypt and Israel over the last 25-years. |
In 1996 he lead a group 21 teenagers on a tour of the West African Countries of Cote D’Ivoire, and Ghana. While there they met with tribal chiefs and elders of the land and toured the ancient slave ports, where many of their ancestors began their journey to America.
The ultimate dream of his life is to take a year off to travel around the world on a special study mission. The driving theme of his life is, “to study like it’s my first time and preach like it’s my last”. He is currently working on a nine volume Inspirational and Motivational Prayer Book series. His recent poem “The Legacy” has captured and captivated the minds and hearts of thousands and will soon be released...
He and his beautiful wife Solombra love serving their Church family…and it shows! They are the proud parents of 2-year-old miracle twin boys, Samuel and Solomon. And Pastor Billy has three other grown children from a former marriage: Billy II, 24-years-old, Marian, 20-years-old and Karis, 18-years-old.
