The Abstruse Spell

by Darcell Streeter

Blindly I see what does not exist
Joyfully any pain will my heart dismiss
Reluctant I am to break this spell
For, no other joy have I known as well.

-reality is unclear and the mirage of what I feel is real-

It is indescribable, but carries many names
Known by all, but never known by some.
It is the smile on your face, the chill up your spine,
the whisper in your ear- yet it does not speak.

It is wonder and confusion, joy and pain.
It is the greatest spell one could ever conjure.
